How to authenticate Certificate of Good Standing for use in China?
In order to be used in China, a Certificate of Good Standing, also called Certificate of Existence or Certificate of Status must be legalized by the Chinese Consulate or Chinese Embassy. You must contact the Secretary of State office located in the state where your business is registered as a legal entity to request for a certificate.

I have received a Certificate of Good Standing, what is next?
If your document is issued from the following states, you must have it authenticated by the US Department of State before submitting to the Chinese Consulate or Embassy:
- Delaware, Idaho, Kentucky, Maryland, Montana, Nebraska, North Carolina, North Dakota, South Carolina, South Dakota, Tennessee, Utah, Virginia, West Virginia, Wyoming and Washington DC.
Otherwise, since the document is issued and certified by the Secretary of State, you can proceed to Chinese Consulate authentication.
